Stark contrasts shaped my upbringing. Raised in Malaysia by a Chinese father and an Irish mother, I moved to Ireland alone at 15, and later to the UK to study law. I quickly learned that an agile mindset was essential to navigate change. This spirit guided my career from equities trading in London to becoming a legal and business advisor for a global sports agency. There, I had the incredible opportunity to work with iconic brands and elite athletes, immersing myself in the exhilarating world of major sporting events.
What shaped my journey and continues to do so is learning from great leaders. It uncovered deep insights into how culture and society shape thoughts and behaviours. I became fascinated by these correlations and their potential to create opportunities, as well as form barriers. I discovered that standing out requires an understanding of these factors, which can unlock pathways to both career and personal success.
Recognising the struggles university students face with the fast-paced, complex, and competitive world, I founded Newbridge to transform the university experience. Our mission is to rapidly deliver access to personalised soft skill learnings. By integrating behavioural, personality, and cultural insights, Newbridge equips students with the critical skills they need to thrive in an unpredictable world.
